İstanbul Medeniyet University Faculty of Medicine Nuclear Medicine Department, which a branch of medicine that radioactive substances are used in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases, has a central importance in the diagnosis, treatment and follow-up of especially oncological diseases with applications that functional and structural evaluation can be made simultaneously.

Our department aims to offer strong clinical and basic science teaching in all areas of diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine for nuclear medicine physician and medical students.

In Nuclear Medicine department, PET/CT and SPECT Gamma camera devices are available. PET/CT equipment has Time of Flight technology with high temporal resolution. In these modern systems, better resolution and superior image quality are obtained with PET/CT images with giving lower radiation. The cardiovascular system, skeleton system, thyroid, parathyroid and other endocrine organs, genito-urinary system, gastrointestinal system, pulmonary system, central nervous system, infection and inflammation visualizations can be made by means of the gamma camera system with a double detector which is available at the Nuclear Medicine Department.
